There are many things that make up a good restaurant such as good food, getting the best restaurant fitouts in Canberra and offering cheap promotions on happy hours. This and more criteria have been considered during the Australian Hotels Association ACT Hospitality Awards wherein the Best Local award was jointly given to Public located in Manuka and Edgar’s Inn which is in Ainsie.
Including the Best Local award, there are 32 awards given in total to the best hotels, industry workers, restaurants, cafes and bars all over Canberra. Best Cocktail Bar award was given to Black Market located in Civic while Pomegranate which is in Kingston received the Best Restaurant award. Best Late-Night Entertainment Venue was secured by Hopscotch and Molly, on the other hand, got the Best Live Entertainment Venue. Braddon’s Black Fire Restaurant bagged the Best Casual Dining.
There are two recipients of the Best Deluxe Accommodation which are Hotel Realm and Jamala Wildlife Lodge. The Little National Hotel was awarded as the hotel with the Best Environmental Practice.
There are also new awards that were given including the Best Wine List which is Bar Rochford and the Best Specialty Restaurant which is none other than Raku. The Duxton at the O’Connor went home that night with three awards namely Best TAB Licensed Venue, Best Pub Eatery and Best Functions and Events Venue.
Anthony Brierley, the acting general manager of AHA ACT, said that the event for 2018 was a success because of the innovative newcomers in the industry together with the businesses that are long established in Canberra. He added that the winners of this year’s awards showed so much more with their flair, talent, innovation and creativity.
He was happy to present the awards and hope that many people would come and visit Canberra in order to experience these local establishments. These bars and food scenes made sure they had the best restaurant fitouts in Canberra in order to win the hearts of the customers. The announcement of the winners was hosted at QT Canberra by the AHA which is a member organization under the hospitality sector.
