The I-595 Business Center in Fort Lauderdale the Sunshine State; Florida, is currently under construction, and, if the schedule holds, will only be operational sometime of 2018.That being said, the 150,000ft2 industrial center is already attracting interested companies, with an HVAC contractor, Johnstone Supply, which already has around 25 locations across Florida plus 4 in South Carolina, having set up for the place’s opening.
The Johnstone Supply is an HVAC-specialized company handling wholesale, contraction, distribution and supply of equipment. The lease deal is part of its relocation of its Dania Beach operations from the Broward International Commerce Center at 329 N. Bryan Road.
The project under development is located in front of the Tri-County Area’s Interstate 595, west of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in the Sunshine State. The facility’s convenient location means that it also allows easy access to the Florida Turnpike and the western coast of Florida.
Another company, Cushman & Wakefield, a commercial real estate company based in Chicago, has already negotiated with HVAC contractor Johnstone Supply for a spot at the I-595 Business Center. Cushman & Wakefield will be the new tenant under Johnstone, set to occupy a 32,400ft2 space at the property, which is set to be finished sometime in August 2018.
The Cushman & Wakefield team of Executive Directors, composed of Chris Metzger, Christopher Thomson and Richard Etner Jr. negotiated with Director Matthew McAllister, who represent the owner of the MSG I-595 LLC., with some assistance from JLL Executive Vice President Sky Groden.
Cushman & Wakefield had already been making moves to expand their operations, having already arranged for a 505,000ft2 lease located at 197 Kings Mill Road, Midland Logistics Park in McDonough, Georgia, in agreement with S&S Activewear.
C&W had already released a statement on the development, with Metzger speaking the prepared statement. According to him, the company noticed significant interest in I-595 Business Center from companies hoping to become tenants in the new space. He says the company saw it as rare opportunity for them, and other companies, to get their hands on a state-of-the-art showroom/warehouse facility that’s centrally located with I-595 frontage and easy access to the key logistical routes of the Tri-County area.
